Training auditors is an important and necessary requirement for an effective management system. Without proper training, personnel who carry out audits infrequently may find the process daunting and confusing. Certainly not something they would wish to carry out on a regular basis. Our training courses demystify the audit process and provide delegates with clear guidance on how to plan and carry out an HSE management system audit.
We have over 15 years of accredited ISO 14001 training experience and over 5 years of delivering OHSSA 18001 training mainly relating to HSE management system audits undertaken to Lead Auditor level. Our Foundation Course in Environmental Auditing was one of only three courses to be accredited by the IEMA in 1994. That course was developed further and became the Advanced EMS Auditor Training Course in 1996.
Content is tailored to suit the client's needs but always involves practical planning for an internal audit followed by an actual live audit on day 2 or day 3. The planning for this takes place on day 1 using our own copyrighted planning tools that turn an audit into a clearly visible and understandable process. Clients learn a great deal about how to undertake an effective audit in the context of their own site, and the learning experience is greatly enhanced by the tutor's own vast experience as a certification auditor working for a number of international certification bodies.
As with most new skills, ISO 14001 auditor training requires periodic updating and review of how to carry out an audit. We are developing a new web service called AuditMentor that will provide ISO 14001 training courses and implement the skills in a constructive manner. We also offer in-company assistance to auditors during their audits as part of the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 auditor training programme. Contact us for further details.
